34th Asian American International Film Festival

Asian Cinevision’s 34th Asian American Int’l Film Festival (August 10-20) just kick off the opening and gala last night.  I attended opening night film, “Amigo” by John Sayles and gala party.  I met Joel Torre, the star of the”Amigo” who was even more handsome in person than in the film at the party.

My documentary will have a New York premiere screening on Sunday, August 14th, 3 PM at the Clearview Chelsea Cinemas (260 West 23rd Street, near 8th Avenue, NY, NY 10011).  It will also have two community screenings:

Friday August 12th, 7:30 PM at Maysles (343 Lenox Avenue, NY, NY 10027) and Thursday August 18th, 6:30 PM at Flushing Library ( 41-17 Main Street, Flushing New York 11355).  I am planning to attend all three screenings and look forward to meet audiences who are interested in Anna May’s story.

"Anna May Wong" screening at Maysles Cinema on Fri. 8/12.

I attended all the three screenings during the AAIFF.  My family attended the Clearview Chelsea Cinemas screening on Sunday, 8/14 which I also did Q&A after the screening.  As Anna May frequently visited the Big Apple in the 1930s and 1940s from LA or on her way to Europe, I hope that she might be pleased to know that the documentary had a New York premiere in NYC!!  Thanks for all the friends and supporters of the documentary!!
